In Episode 4 we are going to discuss the mini series “When They See Us” created by Ava Duvernay based on a true story. It’s been a really big topic these last couple of weeks. We all have seen parts of it and felt so many emotions. So just in case you do not know about it.. Please allow us to summarize. In the Spring of 1989.

There were about 30 teens hanging out in Central Park located in New York and some of them were causing trouble. That same night, a woman named Patricia Melli had been out jogging in the park, she was found badly beaten and raped. She was in a coma for 12 days and suffered various other injuries.

Due to these disturbances, the cops were in Central Park and ending up Apprehending Four black teenagers and one Hispanic teenager. These 5 black and brown boys were falsely accused and incarcerated for 5-13 years.
